New year's resolutions for 2026

Posted by Roc Reguant on January 01, 2026

I’m quite optimistic about this upcoming year full of possibilities and exciting opportunities. The same way I used to do it, I’m going to split the goals into professional, personal, and the side quests.

Professional

  1. Write a full book on Real world evidence analysis. The aim is to have 250 written pages by the end of the year as a first draft.

  2. Get a promotion at work. I’ve been starting projects and gathering stakeholders to move the organization forward.

  3. Finish the HEOR course I’m undertaking (finish the remaining 2 semesters)

  4. Implement a startup idea. The success won’t be defined by the startup itself but by the accomplishment of the following milestones: cold call 100 people, and get 100 people on the web. Try geolocated ads.

  5. Fix the blog. It has been a little abandoned during the last few years, and some of the posts got lost during an outage. I’ve moved it to github pages and I hope it can be its re-launch. I’d like to write there more regularly.

  6. Build an air shirt dryer. I’ve seen some gadgets to dry shirts and instead of buying one I think it would be cool if I did some tinkering and built myself one from scratch through the different electronic pieces.

Personal

  1. Paragliding

  2. Bungee jumping

  3. Keep my daily sport routine: Gym, run, and climb (plus hiking and other less regular events)

  4. I’d like to find my style in comedy. I’d like to do two more performances one before summer and one after.

  5. Visit a new country

  6. Quit toxic internet: Dumb scrolling. Be more diligent with my time.

Side quests:

  • Have a small garden with pots on the terrace that survives in spite of my actions.

  • Potentially have a dwarf tree with fruits that I can automate it’s care

  • Go to swing class. It’s been a while since I’ve danced regularly. I’m missing it and it would be great to take up the habit again. Salsa was cool but maybe it’s time for a change.

  • Become more minimalist again. With time I’ve started accumulating more and more things and it’s time for a deep clean. I need to gain back some space at home

  • As always, I’d like to read more books. I already spend a lo of time reading but I’d like to choose my poison.

This upcoming year fills me with excitement because the sky is the limit. Like every year: when in doubt choose the adventure, conquer the world, survive another year, and (most importantly) be happy.

Happy New Year! :D
